The purpose of the FU- TURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA CLUB. organ- ized last year, is to stimu- late interest in teaching among high school stu- dents. The Burroughs chapter of FTA published and dis- tributed a school calendar as a service for the Parent Teacher Association an tl served the community by creating displays and pre- senting a skit for Public Schools Week. A huge outdoor bulletin board, presented to the school by the FTA group. The project was completed in co-operation with the Blockbuster staff, which has the responsibility of posting school, national, and world news on the board each day. GIRLS' LEAGUE belongs to all of the girls. Through the publication of a Student Handbook to educate new- comers in the ways of our school, and through their many other activities, they have helped to draw back the curtains and give a glimpse of our play',. By sponsoring activities that include all Burroughs males, the BOYS' LEAGUE encourages fellowship and dc- velops a feeling of belonging among new students. They assemble several times during a year for,special programs. The first lecture the boys at-V tended explained hunters' safety.
