Mr. Thomas Thatcher Bowling Green-B. S. and M. S. Executive Head PRINCIPAUS MESSAGE During our school days, we are very apt to dream or see visions. Most of us picture our fu- ture lives in glowing colors and imagine condi- tions that seldom, if ever, exist in actual lives. Many of these delusions vanish long before we have reached the end of our high school days, but I am glad to say some of them remain with us through most of the journey and help add a charm and luster to life that it would not have if we always faced the realities of a cold and practical world. For twelve years a student looks forward to the day of graduation as the goal of ambition, but as that day finally approaches, there is often a feeling of sadness. He realizes that the inti- mate associations of years will be broken, and the band that has so long truidged together will be scattered to the four winds, some never again to meet. No matter what positions you may fill in the future, or what honors may fall to your lot, there will always be a feeling of responsi- bility which will take the keen edge from your joys. It is the uncertainty of life that makes it spec- tacular. If we knew what lay ahead of us, life would be monotonous and unbearable, no mat- ter how varied and interesting it would other- wise have been. When each day brings a pleas- ure or a pain you did not kn-ow was coming, it makes every hour interesting and life is worth living, no matter how hard the struggle or how rugged the journey. L . MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE HEAD Education is essentially one of the most pow- erful forces of a nation. It is the educational aim of the Buckeye Central High School to de- velop each individual to his fullest potential so that he may, I10'C Only enjoy a more wholesome image of himself, but may exercise with mean- ing and direction the intellectual, moral, and social skills needed to shape the course of huh man civilization based on the need for the com- mon good. In our community, where all the children of all the people receive an education, not all per- sons are capable of assuming leadership roles. Consequently, it is education which serves to identify potential leaders through a gradual process of sifting and sorting. It is education that selects and prepares potential future lead- ers for community and national roles.
