The Junior Classical League is a club for Latin students. They attended a Tennessee Junior Classical League Convention in Clarksville, Tennesse, on April 27 and 28. They competed and placed in various academic, artistic, and athletic contests, Their annual spring banquet was held May 14 Each student dressed as a historical or mythological character to provide the Roman atmosphere. FRE CH CLUB SPANISH CLUB The French Club heard a speaker who was born and reared in France. They also visited a rest home and sang French Christmas Carols. The Sponsor was Mrs. Pamela McWhirter. Drew Murphy, a member, game a presentation on Spain. He shared many interesting facts with them. They also had a Spanish Ban- quet in April. Each person prepared a Spanish dish and explained how she made it. They had several speakers who discussed Spain and her neighboring countries. They discuss the safety and techniques of using the water ski equipment. The sponsors are Coach Ed Hullender and Coach Gerald Flanagan. The purpose of this club is to study the social problems of America. A field trip was taken to give them a better idea of the crime in Memphis.
