There will be time, there will be time To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet; There will be time to murder and create, And time for all the works and days of hands That lift and drop a question on your plate; Time for you and time for me, And time yet for a hundred indecisions, And for a hundred visions and revisions, And indeed there will be time To wonder, “Do I dare?” and “Do I dare?” T.S. Eliot 6 7 “This Magic Moment” Homecoming 74 The highlights of this years homecoming was the crowning of our queen, Sandy Giron. There was a slight change in scenery, as the pep assembly was held outdoors in the stands this year. This Magic Moment was the theme of this years dance, appropriate enough. The west gym was decorated with Alice in Wonderland other storybook characters. The evening was a delightful success. The homecoming games this year were exciting, even though everyone was freezing. The Bremen fans were out cheering the Braves to victory. This year, Bremen beat Stagg in all their games. It was the first homecoming in history in which we've won all games. Starring Jim Goodwyn as Charlie Brown, Elaine Porter as Lucy, Bill Lindblom as Sch-roeder, Andy Cordero as Linus, Val Miceli as Patti, and Glenn Haines as Snoopy, the production played to enthusiastic audiences of young and old alike. Josalyn gets down! Badddd Suzann Let's get it on! Beth Biegel Sue and James Shirley Miles On November 16, Bremen in Action held their first annual Human Relation Conference. The people who participated seemed very enthused. Because of informal small groups, the people proved to open up more freely. The program itself was considered very worthwhile and plans are being formulated to promote future programs. B. I. A. In Action 23 And “Free To Be You And Me’’ 24 This year the Bremen Drama Department added a new dimension to their overall program. A Sunday was set aside to give an educational approach to the Drama and Speech activities. Certain programs that had been presented during the Speech and Drama competition were selected to be viewed by the parents and other interested people. A brief explanation preceeded each entry so the audience was more aware of the rules under which the students compete. Included in the program was a display of the set materials and a complete set-up of the set for DETECTIVE STORY. This proved to be most fascinating to the audience since the entire stage was bare and the set was actually constructed while the audience watched, (see next page for completed set) In all, the audience felt it was a most enjoyable and educational afternoon. FREE TO BE YOU AND ME, this year's Reader's Theatre entry, has put forth many hard hours of tedious rehearsals, to perfect a sharp program that portrays the humorous antics of children and their everyday happenings. Included in the cast were: Melvin Chaney, Larry Hill, Deneise Haynesworth, Lisa Jaquez, Kevin McCarey, Elaine Porter, and Mike Howatt. DETECTIVE STORY, this year's contest play, has dedicated many weeks of rehearsing as well as working on set construction for this play. The story deals with the harsh and realistic happenings of a true New York precinct. Members of the cast and crew were: George Schlichter, Jim Goodwyn, Rich Meenan, Steve Dusza, Joyce Pochinskas, Bill Lindblom, Lynn Klekowski, Janice Parson, Tom Houlahan, Greg Williams, Jim Burkhardt, Jim Bergstrom, Cindy Techman, Donna Neighbor, John Shinn, Nicki Cox, Vicki Clyde, A1 Moroney, Joann Genovese, Joyce Klekowski. Two events which will be advancing to the State level are Humorous Duet and Original Comedy. The duet, OH DAD POOR DAD, MOMMA'S STUCK YOU IN THE CLOSET AND I'M FEELING SO SAD, with Glenn Haines and Cindy Techman finished second in Sectionals. The comedy, JOE JOCK, written and presented by Glenn Haines also finished second in Sectionals. Mrs. Sylvia Hilliard, Spon-ser, emceed the show in which the girls showed graceful and acrobatic dance moves. The Arrow lltarr. Early this year, the echoing sounds of happy people filled the transformed cafeteria of Bremen. For many excited children (and adults) it was no longer a lunch room, but a carefree setting for the Arrow Winter Carnival. More than 15 clubs participated, and the cries of the workers infected the crowds with enthusiasm. Throughout the five hours, all in attendance had a smile on their face. Besides the fun it created, the Winter Carnival had another object: to provide different clubs with a chance to raise funds. Winter Carnival 29 Sunshine 30 31 Give My Regards To Broadway This year's Dolphin Show was a combined effort between the Dolphins in the water and the Thespians on land. Forty people participated in the show whose theme was Give My Regards to Broadway . The show featured old Broadway tunes and dance numbers as well as the usual water ballet. This year's show attracted the most poeple and the most money in the history of the Dolphins. ■ m Horrors ’75 The Varity Show this year, entitled Horrors , was a joint effort by Student Council and Thespians. It encompassed some fantastic acts from every facet of entertainment, and a theme involving several ghoulish characters. r.T 34 35 ‘UTBU’ A Smash This year, the Bremen Drama Department closed the year with a sophisticated comedy in two acts, UTBU. UTBU was about a make-believe organization that goes around blowing up undesirables of society. The UTBU organization, which stands for unhealthy to be unpleasant, sets its sights on a fading actor, J. Francis Amber, who is planning on doing in his 94 year old mother. UTBU, was full of marvelous characters and sophisticated humor. The cast included: Kevin McCarey, Glenn Haines, Lisa Jaquez, Lynn Klekowski, Cindy Tech-man, Greg Williams, Jill Scheidel, Maureen Hanlon, Vickie Clyde, and Bill Lindblom. The play also brought a new form of theatre to Bremen, it was the first time that the audience had the chance to be on the stage since the stage was set on the floor. This was one of the most professional looking plays ever put on at Bremen. 36 Gospel Concert The second annual Gospel Concert which was held in the memory of the late Debra Covington, was again this year a success. Many Gospel Artists from the Chicago area participated in this worthy event. Such artists as Bernard Washington Price, the Harvey Youth Choir (featuring Mrs. Jane Crossley), the Bremen High School Combined Choirs, Vernon Oliver Price, Voices of Melody and many others. The Concert is to raise funds for scholarships for an active and deserving member of the club. PROM COURT: Kevin Coyle, Sandy Giron; Tom Nicotra, Kris Seppa; Jim Towry, Sheryl Hardt; Gary Jager, Queen Cindy Schnering; Deniese Haynesworth; Denis Carlton; Crystal Knight, Darryl Cearcy; Johelen Moore, Ken Haynesworth. Queen Cindy and date Gary. This year's prom, Stairway to Heaven, was enjoyed by a large turnout at the Riveria Country Club. As the bands played and the couples danced in the pavillion around the lake, the court was presented and Cindy Schnering was crowned queen. As the evening ended at the country club, it began with the late night dinners at posh restaurants and midnight rides through the city lights. The following day saw picnics and sanddunes and an end to a successful prom. District 228 Administrators 1. Kenneth Webster, Asst. Superintendent 2. Robert M. Wheat, Superintendent 3. W. E. Mr. Branch 70 During the 1974-75 school year, Mr. Branch used a variety of ways to create a Mnew image for his performing choruses. He took several of his students to see the Chicago Opera Player1 s production of the comic opera by Johann Strauss, Die Fledermaus . They also saw the Spring Musical at New Trier East High School, Marne . The music department enjoyed another fine performance season with the Winter Concert, Sacred Concert, and the Annual Spring Concert. Todd Brown, a midterm graduate, returned to make a solo appearance at the Winter Concert.
