Wc dedicate this issue of the Spire with appreciation to Professor H. C. Wingblade, who for twenty-seven years has been an instructor at Bethel. Professor Wing-blade has so established himself in the love and respect of his students that any memories of Bethel must needs bring with them memories of ilH. C.” With his unusual mastery of literature and his own enthusiasm for the works of great men, he has made his lectures alive and interesting, and in his own inimitable wav has brought his students the great truths of life. Professor Wingblade has made it easy for students to talk to him — to tell him of their difficulties, discourage-ments and successes because they have always been sure of (juick understanding, sympathy and aid. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why he has been chosen the sponsor of every senior class since he came to Bethel.
