Bruce Clyde, newspaper editor, is about to be fired by julia Boyd, the owner, unless he digs up something sensational to boost the circulation. Bruce is in love with Brenda Day, an aspiring actress who wants to prove to Eugenia Sherwood, director of the Community Players, that she can act so she will get the leading role in the big Festival Play. Then along comes Professor Cornelius Kent, wealthy explorer, with the news that his nephew, Allen Kent, is coming back from the Solomons with a real. live Cannibal Queen for the Professor to study, civilize, and make lectures about. Bruce pounces on the startling news. This certainly should sell papers. But he is horrified when he meets Allen. just back from the Solomons. and finds that Allen accepted money from the Professor but came back without the Queen! So Bruce, anxious to hold his job, in- duces Brenda, anxious to prove she can act, to become the Queen. Everything works out all right until ju-ju, the real Cannibal Queen, shows up. Then the antics really begin. X, Q? if 1. 'D 1 f-sf we v tif HX T., 74 l N, Top: H. Shook, A. Furro, N. Williamson, J. McGinnis, M. Brocligan, J. Dean Bottom: M. McMullin, M. Lyons, B. Garrison, B. The Bethel Braves took the field again this spring in a number of night baseball contests with the other schools from the XY est Central League. The Braves missed the pitching talents of Danny McGraw, who had sparked them throughout the I955 baseball season. Coach jack justice called on Dave john- son, Carl Laslie and Kirk Bardwell to handle the pitching chores for the Braves nine. ln the 1955 season, the Braves managed to nail down a second place spot in the WCL as they won 9 out of 12 games. In league play they won 7 out of 8. The only league team the Braves lost to was Peninsula, who went on to win the championship. ' Aiwa?
