Part of this was due to the installation of our school's new administration. Mr. Charles B. Hill accepted the massive task of principal. With his friendly smile and optimistic attitude, Mr. Hill was readily accepted by our student body. Assisting Mr. Hill in administrative duties were Mr. William Baylor, Mr. Timothy Payne, and Mr. Grant Smith. Although Mr. Hill spent a great deal of time in his office preparing and planning for our school, he still found time to deal with the problems of the many students. Mr. Baylor was in charge of maintaining the annex. Mr. Payne and Mr. Smith handled the disciplinary actions involving the students, the issuing of books each quarter, and the attendance records of the school. Our administration was made of people who cared, worried, sought for the best paths of education, opened new doors to opportunity while closing other meaningless ones, granted privileges and took others away while trying to make Berkeley High School the best it could be. Mr. William Baylor Assistant Principal Mr. Timothy Payne Assistant Principal Mr. Grant Smith Assistant Principal 99 Teachers Play Vital Role Our teachers played an important role at Berkeley High School. They strived to make this year the best one ever. Berkeley’s teachers attempted to promote student involvement by becoming more interested in the students’ activities and interests. Both the new teachers and those who were familiar with Berkeley’s halls have done an excellent job this year. The students at Berkeley High were fortunate to have such capable and hardworking instructors. Yes, teachers played a vital role at BHS. A. Ms. Barbara Crouse: English B.
