Their enthusiasm always at the service of the '49 ers, has done much to make the off-classroom activities of the class a series of outstanding successes. Their ability to plan and execute is evidenced by the fine results achieved in class programs, the junior Prom, and the concessions stand. CONCESSIONS CREW In the open air emporium on the football field you found them--a stout hearted crew dispensing good things to eat and drink-class-spirited seniors whose consistent efforts have raised the sizable fund needed to keep the annual 'out of the red.' Inside, during the basketball season-their sponsors Working right along' with 'them-they kept going with a spirit of ready and cheerful service. They can be proud of the results: the project has been successful. Certainly it is one to earn them the gratitude of the entire class. ' When Aliene Niel-sen was crowned at the opening of the football season on the evening of September 24, she was attended by Norma Barrett Jane Benight Joyce Goin, and Agnes Wright as maids of honor., Their campaign managers Everett Roley Eddie Valentine, Bob Turner, Ronnie Drown-s, and Jack Johnson escorted them in the processional across the field. Eddie, as student body president, officiated at the crowning. Pages were Jo Ann Batchelor and Norma Singletong trumpeters were Paul Clark and Melvin Stanislaus. Class attendants were Shirley Myers and Rose Cross from the eleventh , gradqeg Shirley Hook and Frances Bunten represented the sophomores. The entire party participated in the initial flag raising of the season conducted by the R. 'O. T.
