PLAY PRODUCTION classes this year pre- sented the story of a minister's family and its experiences in a leaky parsonage and of a phonetics teacher and his human experiment in One Foot in Heaven by Hartzell Spence and Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. In ob- servance of the Christmas season the speech and vocal music classes collaborated on The Prince of Peace, an original play written by English Instructor Anna Cass. As an extra project the one act play, Happy fonrney by Thornton Wilder, was given at the Fremont exchange program. Speech instructor is Mrs. Doris Stevens. VOCAL MUSIC groups participated in many activities and productions. Under the direc- tion of Mrs. Regina Place and Clayton Cowan, they presented the annual Spring Concert and took a major part in the ABC Renae. They also participated in the Christmas play, Com- mencement exercises, and the city-Wide Music clinic. Quartets and soloists entertained for the Fremont exchange program and other school functions. INSTRUMENTAL DEPARTMENT, headed by LeRoy Giles, took part in the Spring Con- cert, Music Clinic, and County Fair. At the State Music contest, eight superior and four excellent ratings were won by instrumental students. Ensembles and soloists participated in Ham Heaven, ABC Renae, and the Fremont exchange program. The band played during intermission at football games and for pep rallies.
