Fund raising was an important part of every organization’s plan. Excitement grew as Homecoming 76 activities began. Alums returned to renew old acquaintances as students busily prepared for and participated in those memorable activities. It was an election year-Jimmy Carter, the Georgia peanut farmer, became President of the United States defeating Gerald Ford. Studies went on as usual as the year progressed. Cold weather began as the Holiday Season brightened the gloom. 4 TABLE OF CONTENTS DIRECTORS . ..8 SPECIALS ... 18 ACTORS 78 STARS 92 5 IT ENDED . . . not soon enough for Seniors. BHS met with “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat” as sporting events kept winter boredom from looming in the corridors. The winter got colder, colder, and colder-one of the coldest in history. And along with the cold, came snow and more snow. For some, it was dreadful; for others, it was great— no school! Finally, spring began to arrive. Seniors began to anxiously look forward to the year’s end. Underclassmen had something else to look forward to—failure of the referendum to pass which meant no agricultural or industrial art classes for next year. Student life continued and finally, prom night came, a cherished moment for all. Then graduation. Zoch, Timothy 90 103 At the beginning of every year, things look like a bed of roses, but toward the end, the excitement begins to wilt and die. This year is no exception. We started out with great hopes, kept struggling, and then lost some vital film in the mail which threw a curve ball into the game. That, along with irresponsibility, wrecked our final deadline. IT'S OFF 'TIL '78 No person can imagine the work, time and effort that goes into a good yearbook unless he has served as editor or advisor. Recognition is seldom received. I thank Editor Kathy Lust and staff member Becky Stevens for their persistence this past summer. A special thanks goes to juniors Mark Flavin, Kathy Kirwan. and Kim Jones; for without them, the 1977 BIM would still be setting on the shelf. I also thank Mr. Gene Schnierle. Without his pictures, there would be no baseball, girls track, or boys track in the 1977 BIM. Merle Taylor Advisor 104 ■ .
