1966 MISSILE BEDFORD HIGH SCHOOL BEDFORD, MASSACHUSSETS They might not need me, but they might, I ' ll let my head be just in sight! A smile as small as mine might be Precisely their necessity. Emily Dickinson DEDICATION Be a friend. You don ' t need glory. Friendship is a simple story. Pass by trifling errcars blindly. Gaze on honest effort kindly, Cheer the youth who ' s bravely trying. Pity him who ' s sadly sighing; Just a little labor spend On the duties of a friend. Edgar A. Guest It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. Albert Einstein Let us hope that each student has experi- enced the joys of personal accomplishment in this high school and that this motivation will extend into all his future educational and voca- tional pursuits. John Glenn Superintendent To the class of 1%6: It is your intelligence, moral courage, cultural development, and civic responsibility that will continue to make our nation strong. Dr. Ado Commito Assistant Superintendent Secretaries: 1 To the class of 1966: With few exceptions the men and women who have achieved outstanding success began with no other assets than alertness, willingness, and a determination to make good. They were different types: country boys, city girls, salesmen, clerks. They made the grade because they had the Will To Win! They put hearts into their work and did their best-always. Bedford High School has given you its best: guided you, taught you, counseled you. You have the means to succeed. We know you can do it. Very truly yours, Edward H. Gillespie Principal The pages of this the 1966 Missile are fill- ed with the kaleidoscopic images of friends, classes, achievements, and those wonderful moments that belong to this part of our lives. Every graduating class is missed, for each class seems to have distinguishing characteris- tics of its own. We shall follow the careers of the members of the Class of 1966 with pride and a friendly interest. Cheryl Lousararian Betty Genetti CHEERLEADERS For the second time in two years, the cheerleaders placed third against stiff competition in the North Reading Cheerlead- ing Contest.
