xxneu , me or the tvfhe Tfnd Abbott ended the season with four wins and two losses. One of the outstanding games was the game lost to Ellis in the last seven seconds. This spoiled Abbott's chances for a tie of the City Championship. In the first quarter Gary Warren ran for a touchdown making the score 6 to 0. The score never changed until the last seven seconds when we attempted to knock down a pass, but before it hit the ground one of the opponents caught it and ran five yards for the touchdown. They then converted, and the game ended 7 to 6 for Ellis. ROW 1: Bill Hayward, Bill Gieske, Gary Thelander, Ron West- moreland, Warren Kiel, Mike Lyons, Marvin Koehn, Bill Sie- grist, Don Hanson. Then Smith snaggeda long pass thrown by Gary Warren to make the score 33 to 28. Abbott converted to win the game by 34 to 28 . Abbott's 1951 football season was successful in many ways and can be classed with successful seasons of the past. Statistics show this year's team out-gained and out-played its opponents. The scoring was evenly divided among the mem- bers of the offensive team. Mr. Block did a fine job in his first year as ninth grade coach.
