ZELIIQ-ANN A+, f M.. . . M a- ,,- .,-e,- ...-,, , p, f History of The Class of 1926 Four long -years ago on September 6, 1922 we, the class of l926, en- tered Zelie-Hi and soon became a well known class there. This was due to our decided 'tgreennessf' a characteristic posessed by all Freshies but not in so decided a degree. Wie were completely 'fboiledh by the cool and un- sympathizing gaze of the Seniors and the Juniors, being compelled to sit in the same FOOH1 with them. At last we were permitted to hold a class meeting, at which Louis Lusk was elected president. The next great event in our school lives was a sleighing party held january 25th. Wlel met at the Public School Building on Main Street, everybody piled into the sled and made the air ring with music and laughter. We drove to the home of Mae VVelsh where a hot sup- per awaited us and the table fairly groaned under the Weight of the good eats.,' After spending a jolly Evening' a sleepy but happy gang entered Zelie as the clock struck three. This ended our parties for the year. The remaining weeks were spent in laborious work and on June first came the end of our childhood. Wie returned in the fall and took possession of the sophomore room. Wie had ceased to tremble and quake and gave way to our pranks and tricks which we had stored up during the year. Mr. Patton remained Principal of Z. H. S. but there was a change in the faculty, Miss Eichholtz succeeded Miss Moore. The first class party of the year was held in December, when we had a skating party on the reservoir under the chaperonage of Mr. Patton. Later we had a sled-load at the home of Catherine Bame. The evening was spent in games and after enjoying a delicious lunch we re- turned home voting Catherine a capital hostess. A weiner roast was held at the home of Jeannette Stamm on May 19th. june third completed one- half of our high school career and ended, too the year of our existence as 'fwise fools. The junior class of 1924 assembled in Miss McClure's room. This Year we elected Frank Eichholtz president, selected as our motto BU Square and the class colors, pink and silver. This year Mr. Bartoo was elected as principal of the high school and one new teacher was added to the faculty, Miss Marshall, who resigned in December and Miss Ralston was elected to fill the vacancy. The class began its social life by holding a party at the home of Catherine Bame. A nice time was enjoyed by all. Next came the moving picture Classmates.U After the battle was fought and won we decided to give the ,Iunior-Senior prom. It was given at the Kaufman hotel on May 13th. The hall was decorated in the class colors of the Seniors, black and red. During the serving of the banquet the class president, Frank Eichholtz acted as toastniaster. The last party of the year u as a weiner roast at the home of Velma Young. Last but not least came our Senior year. The first social event was the 'flnitiation of the Freshiesf' There was also a change in the faculty Mrs. Black and Mr. Anderson came to fill vacancies. A party was held at the home of Charles Klinefelter October twenty first. A pleasant time was spent in playing games and dancing. On Uctober twenty sixth a dance was given by the foot--ball players to celebrate the victory over Evans Citv. The Seniors thcn gave a Hallow'een party to the Sophomores, XYhen the 13
