Time and conditions are always changing. We cannot be content to take things as they are, for, if we do not go forward in life, we will surely go backward. 3 Board of Education We the class of 1957 wish to thank our capable Board of Education for the many privileges and favors that they have granted us during these years of training. Now as we are about to enter this world of uncertainty, there is a task ahead for each of us to do and the training we have received here in Zeeland High School will guide us on our way. Again we say thank you. 4 3 , Q 5 Memoriam In memory of Henry A. Geerlings, who served as president of our Board of Education from January 1950 to June 1956, we desire to express our sympathy to his wife and daughter. Mr. Geerlings was a lifelong resident of our community and contributed greatly to its welfare and advancement. As a member and president of the Board of Education, he served ably and willingly. He gave liberally of his time and talent. His knowledge and ability in business and fiscal affairs was a valuable asset to the schools of our city. His devotion to and interest in our schools deserves long to be kept in our memory. 5 u Administration Leading us through our most enjoyable years have been Mr. Raymond Brumrnel, who so efficiently pre- pared us for our vigorious High School days: Mr. Raymond Lokers, who has proved to be very helpful in innumerable instancesg and Mr. Julius Schipper, who has so completely guided and directed the stu- dents and administration. They traveled to Coopersville and gave a combined concert with the other schools in the Kenewa League. The chorus entered the District Contest at Junior College and returned with two excellent and one superior ratings. Another highlight of the season for the Chorus was the singing in the Civic Center for a Tulip Time Program with other high school choruses.
