Marcia Berghorst has made great progress as director of Zeeland Philharmonic Sym- phony Orchestra, composed of Eleanor Pul. playing a bass horn, Nelson Gebben a pic- colo. Soloists are Carol De Iongh a soprano, and Gordon Vander Meulen, bass. Larry Dickman is following in his father's foot-steps as principal of Zeeland High School. CAlso losing hair.l Gordon Huizenga and lim Poortenga, run- ning the poor farm in Borculo, have been fined for stealing from one of their best cus- tomers, Mickey Wyngarden. They took one of her treasured bracelets, which was given to her by Dick Carlson, who broke her heart when he deserted her and married another classmate, Carolyn Bol nan. Abbott and Costello have been run out of business by none other than the world's greatest comedians, Odell De Ionge and Kenneth Van Haitsma. Their latest picture is We Kill 'Em All. Their leading lady is Betty Vander Kolk. Marvin Huyser is taking over his father's grocery business in Beaverdam. He is as- sisted by his wife, the former Muriel Boon, who takes care of his egg route. Iohn de Vries, who is Oaklands first photographer, has been having wonderful success all because of his able assistant, Shirley Hungerink, who helps him in the dark room. Marilyn Romeyn has set up her cat shop in Vriesland. Of course, if it were not for her most frequent customer, Ted Vander Ploeg, who loves fuzzy wuzzys as she does, her business would fail. Clarence Timmerman, better known as Weeds, has become sampler at the Lucky Strike factory in Kentucky. - Psychiatrist, Bernard Ozinga of Benthiem has been making frequent trips to Calvin College where Shirley Heyboer is an English Professor. Since the death of Al Iolson, who was heard over WGN, people have been turning their dials to WEAE to hear none other than lack Sheridan, who has been coaxed by all the glamour girls to begin his career as a famous crooner. Harvard Meyers, the flirtatious playboy, is now an eligible bachelor. He has just moved to Overisel where Mildred Berghorst and Rhona Smidderks are diligently taking care of him, Lois Boes, who has settled down to a peaceful home life with her four children, has now started a ballet school, where her manager, Sherwin Nagelkerk, and assistant instructor, Geraldine Schaap. have made progress with Babe's children, in hope they will become future cheer leaders. Ronald Meeuwsen, Wayne Nykamp. as industrious carpenters, have made four push carts for Donna Martinie, Ellamae Meeuw- sen, Audrey De Ionge. and Wilma Papp who have gone to Hollywood and are selling fruit on the street corners. Peter Roon and Bill Harmson have gone into the Ford business. Their associate busi- ness women, Marilyn De Ionge and Ruth Vcm Bronkhorst, have invented a new radio combination of whistling with a piano ac- companiment which they installed in their Fords. Bernice Cook, Iune Henderson. Coralee Nies, Donna Veldhuis, Lorraine Lokers, Nor- ma Tanis, and Norma Van Ham have gone to New York and surprised the aristocratic alumni with their smash hit Chorus Girls. The Rev. Arthur Lenski and his wife, the former Eloise Bosch, have now moved to Pearline where he is a minister. Wendell Lubbinge has become a famous surgeon in Burnips. His success is partially due to his capable wife, the former Arlene Walters. By the way, they also have two secretaries, Ruth and Mary Wyngarden. Harold Hodge and his wife, Nella Pyle, have been going from coast to coast with their three children, staging dramatic plays. Mr. Iohn Boeve and his wife, the former Verna Smallegan, have been writing novels. Their latest edition is Advice to the Love- less. Miss Merilyn Post is employed by the H. I. Heinz Company as superintendent of the dieting kitchen. Anne Holstege, known for her scientific ability, has just invented a way to stop mice from sgueaking. For people who hate mice - go see Anne. Leola Van Koevering, Dorothy Hall. and Betty Boelofs have started their own model- ing shop in Rusk. They attended many dif- ferent modeling schools. Harriet Gruppen is counting beans in The Bean Bag Manufacturing Company. As she works you can hear her mutter, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not! Marilyn Broersma has taken over Miss De longe's position as Mathematics teacher of Zeeland High School.
