For three days grass skirts and other atrocious decora- tions distinguished this class from the rest of the student body. Beach parties seemed to be popular during the first two years. This class gave one for the sophomores, and as many arrived home very late, some new rules concerning parties were made. The class also went skating and tobogganing and, of course, attended the yearly All-School Party. ln 1946 fun began. The arrival of class rings really put on the stamp of Hupperclass- men and from then on things happened. 'lFootloose, the class play, directed by Miss Ver Strate, was a dramatic success. Other schemes for making money were the Maga- zine Drive and the sales of ZHS pins. Four members of the class were chosen t b ' ' o e members of the National Honor Society. The biggest event of the year was the formal lunior-Senior banquet held at the Spring Lake Country Club, This was a fare- well for the Class of '47, H At last the final stages of knighthood were reached. This was the busiest and most ex- citing year of high school. Soon after select- ing na..ie cards and announcements, the class presented that hilarious production, Guess Again, and sold magazines to increase its treasury. Before Christmas vacation the staff was busy writing for the annual, and this went on until the first of May. Then came one of the big events of the year-the lunior-Senior banquet, The juniors were responsible for the banquet, and a royal entertainment it wasl Another big event was the senior boat trip aboard the Greater Detroit bound for Chi- cago via Milwaukee. On this journey many carefree students, without any examination worries, enjoyed the voyage to the utmost, On the evening of Tune Z, sixty-five seniors, in caps and gowns, marched down the aisle in a solemn procession to receive Bibles and diplomas. After the playing of taps the knights left the plain to climb the height, the world.
