The Student Council includes the presidents of the four classes and a boy and a girl from each of the classes. The first aim of the Student Council was to get the Freshmen interested in Zeeland High and to have them enter into the High School spirit. This was accom- plished by a get-acquainted party held for the Freshmen on September 20. Previous to the Christmas vacation a very interesting Christmas program and party was sponsored by the Student Council. The main task of the Student Council was to organize a schedule of hall super- vision. Various members of the High School were appointed by the Student Council to maintain order in the corridors during the quiet periods. Through the efforts of the Student Council the classes have become more united and one spirit prevails-to make Zeeland High bigger and better each year. OFFICERS President ....... .. .... THE BOARD OF EDUCATION GREETS the student body and alumni. f'The Stepping Stone is a publication of which to be proud. and the Board of Education extends its congratulations to the members of the staff, the sponsors and all who have worked so hard to make the book a superlative success. Books are the sine qua non of our daily existence. The lndians, picturesque and hearty. lacked books as implements of warfare against ignorance. Books are indeed powerful weapons, and, in the fight against ignorance and prejudice, the Board of Education recommends books: library books, textbooks, reference books, et cetera. May books, good books, be your lasting friends! As you go forth as graduates. may you often wander back to the library, the heart of the school, and continue there your association with the volumes which grace the shelves, and which will enable you to continue your course in self-education.
