The 1977 Homecoming Queen, Diana Moorehead, and her court opened the Homecomong festivities with a flash of color and excitement. Once again, old-fashioned cars brought the queen and attendants around the stadium where their dates awaited to escort them onto the field. Student Council president, Mike Alfman, proudly crowned Diana queen. Her attendants were Debbie Straker and Amy Bruns, seniors; Lisa Wright and Theresa Ritchey, juniors; Lori Huey and Martha Mason, sophomores. Student Council members, traditional organizers of Homecoming, this year honored previous football players who have represented Zanesville High School in the annual North- South All-Star game over the past 30 years. To futher add to the wondrous glory of the night. Blue Devils severely crushed their opponent Linden McKinley, with an impressive 41-14 tally.
