mfisi chool Life Student participation in the many tradition- al activities at Yuma High constitutes a major part of school life. These activities have sur- vived because of the immense interest taken in them by the student body. Y-Day is foremost on the list of yearly events. At this time the campus queen and her attendants are chosen. Twirp and Twitter season follows next, giving the boys an oppor- tunity to turn their gentlemanly duties over to the girls. For three days, girls carry books, open doors, and perform other such duties for the boys, that the boys perform for them throughout the year. Barefoot students dressed in rags is the usual attire for Sadie Hawkins Day, and little girls with big bows in their hair can be seen selling suckers on Bow and Sucker Day. In addition to these activities, there are many small, day-to-day things that make-up school life. Lockers that won't shut, crowded halls and cafeterias, attending all of the sports events, being late for class and pink slips are all part of school life.
