E VULUT ONS Carrier Yorktown Heading for Korea About 30 U.S. Ships Will Be in Sea of Japan BY TED SELL Times Staff Writer WASHINGTON - The aircraft carrier Yorktown and a screen of accompanying destroyers are mov- ing toward the Sea of Japan to join the Enterprise task force off the coast of Korea, it was learned Saturday. The Yorktown, an antisubmarine carrier, ,was en route across the Pacific to replace the Kearsarge in the South China Sea. But it conti- nued due west and is expected to reach the Sea of Japan soon. various auxiliary supply and support ships. Pentagon officials de- clined to comment on the movement of . the York- town or the strength of her screen. An antisubma- rine carrier normally is accompanied by an escort force of four to six de- stroyers.
