Class History On the day of September 5, 1958 we, twenty-five eager Freshmen entered the halls of York High School. Waiting to meet us in our homeroom with a big smile of assurance was our class sponsor Miss Aigier. We got right down to business and elected our class officers, with Shirley Moyer, president, Les Hill, vice- presidentg Mary Ann Schiller, secretary, Lorraine Weisz, treasurerg and joe Risner, Student Council representative. Through the rest of our high school days we were to carry with us our class motto of To Thine Own Self Be True . Next September we were back again ready to go as Sophomores, all twenty- two of us. Man with all the power was joe Risner with jim'Missler close by. Keeping our valuable records was Mary Ann Burk. Darlene Norman guarded our millions while Shirley Moyer voiced our opinions in Student Council. Backing us all the way was our class spon'sor Miss Woessner. This year we found ourselves as twenty-one juniors. Our first highlight of that year was the big success of our junior Play, Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House , due only to the good-ole sense of humorof Mrs. Zanger. Later on that year Miss Woessner's patience was really put to a test as we converted the gym into a ballroom for our junior-Senior Prom Sweethearts Ball . This proved to be a lot of work but the winning compliments we received from everyone really made it worth while. This was also the year we were delighted at the arrival of a small package containing our beautiful class rings. We chose our class flower the Red American Beauty Rose . To make money for our trip to Washington D.C . we sold candy, put on dances, bake sales and car washes. Heading all the many activities was Rodger Gerhardstein assisted by Leslie Hill. The pencil work was taken care of by Shirley Moyer, while Darlene Norman and Mary Ann Burk took care of our loot. Gerry Verhoff presented our brilliant ideas to the Student Council, with Chris Hayward right behind him. This year we entered the halls of York as twenty-two Seniors for our last year. Once again we have Miss Woessner as our class sponsor. Leslie Hill is our ma.n for president with jim Missler to take over in case of an emergency. Shirley Moyer is still pushing the pencil, while Gerry Verhoff and Mary Ann Burk are taking care of the treasury department. joe Risner and Dan Richmond are the lucky fellows for Student Council. Things are really going fast this year with Senior pictures, presenting our Comedy of Meet Corliss Archer , under the direction of Miss Aigler, all the frm of Prom night, ordering our beautiful invitations and name cards and our exciting trip to Washington D.C. Then comes the day we have all been waiting for GRADUATION! As we will soon walk up to the platform in our caps and gowns of royal blue and white to leave our high Ti school days behind, we realize the time has come all too soon. But proud and happy are we to say that we were all a part of York High School.
