They won 10 and lost 8. The Dukes had several well-played games, and also a few poor ones. However, they were always in the game, as the scores plainly show. Everyone was a little disappointed at the Dukes' showing in the tourna- ment, but they can always look forward to the next season. Next year should be another successful year, as there is only one member of the team graduating. During the year, the team also sponsored a television raffle. 25 Mr. Jack Schmidt was coach of the high school basket- ball and baseball teams until he left us on April 30 when he joined the armed services. In his absence, Mr, Hoff assisted by taking over the po- sition of the coach of the baseball team. T In the second grade under Mrs. Nagle, we had 19 students. Sydney Krugh joined us this year. Mrs. Zinn guided us in our third grade with 18 students under her wing. Remember the fourth grade under Mrs. Heffner. There were 17 students this year. It seems as though Mrs. Heffner liked to spank students and throw erasers. Mr, D, Edwin Jones and Mrs. Heffner instructed us in our fifth year of school. There were 18 studexts this year. There were 15 students tmder the leadership of Mrs. Plikerd in our sixth year of school. When we reached Junior High, we thought we were really getting to be big stuff. There were 13 students sponsored by Mrs. Thompson. Mr, Stoner was our sponsor in the eighth grade. There were 11 students this year. We were quite green what we entered High School as Freshmen. We soon found our way around and kept up with everyone else. Mr. Hanson was our sponsor. We had charge of the noon movies and also sponsored a cake raffle at a basketball game. There were 11 students to do the work. Mrs. Maurer guided us in our Sophomore year. 1. e numbered nine. This year we sponsored a box social and put onaghost skit. We sponsored a cake raffle and had charge of the check room at basketball games. We also had a Valentine dinner. By the time we were Juniors we were getting excited about the Prom. We held several parties in preparing for the Prom. Our theme was Garden of Friendship. We had concessions at basketball games, served the Christmas dinner, and put on the class play Little Acorns. Finally the highlight of school life came, our Senior year. This year we put on Me and My Shadow as our play. We had concessions at basketball games and served the Thanksgiving dinner. We sold magazines and various things to raise money for our trip. We climaxed our days at York by taking a trip to Washington D,C, and New York. 49 Jumon PRoM H if ? x ' .VFX N U .N XX .. 1 ' x . . .ali WF WW:-Q N v Sv 1 N 1 . , ' i n F. , 2 ' at x 1 15.5 if sul A ff' J- fn? 1 ZH wk W ,X ,as ., ..
