Senior Class Prophecy DearJane, On one of my recent singing engagements I met Stanley Welker, one of our old classmates. He told me that he is now a successful actor on Broadway. He also informed me that his sister, Mary Jane, though happily married, is conducting her 120 piece string band. He also receives letters and calls from our other classmates. Some of his reports were that Kay Galloway uses most of her time giving music lessons to her 110 students, and yet keeps up her end of the household duties for her family. Hugh Owen Pugh is now a Professor in the Ohio Northern college and in his spare time cares for his 3000 acre farm. David Owen Evans has made a career of Medicine and keeps in shape by playing baseball for the Venedocia Sluggers. Joann Evans enjoys her work as a nurse in the Dayton Hospital. She is David Evans' head Surgical Nurse. Jerry Mead has reached the position of an Admiral in the Navy. He is in charge of a Heet composed of 96 ships. Mary Platt is now a successful businesswoman. She is president of the Platt Cosmetic Co.', She also keeps house for her family in Detroit. Bill Hughes is a successful business dairyman. He supplies the 'whole area of Venedocia with his products. You know Bill was always going to be a bachelor, well he's stuck to it. Mariyn Lewis is now a professianal artist. She has painted pictures of great renoun. They hang in the Museum in Washington, D. C. She also has quite a time raising her 12 children. Byron Nolan is now a famous basketball player. He averages 62 points a game. That's really something! Remember how I used to say he'd make a good basketball player? I hope to see him play in the near future in Madison Square Garden when I open this fall at the Metropolitan Opera House. Have you heard that Vernon Boley is now manager of the Cin- icinnati Red Socks. His team has won the Pennant for the last four years. Carol Phelps is now a beautician in California, she does most the Actress's hair styling. She also is happy in wedded bliss. Have you heard Mary Helen Davies' latest radio program? She delivered a speech to the Security Council of the United Nation's entitled, f My Country and What It Means To Me. The President has recommended Lher to be a Representative of the United States to speak in foreign countries. Dick Crowe has risen to the rank of Captain in the Army. He has ydeveloped quite a side-lineg he does typing for the Privates. How do you like your job as a secretary to the famous Journalist, Mal Hoyle? I hear you are quite successful at it. Do you enjoy all the 'globe trotting your job requires? As for me, I'm singing with Vic Damone now. I travel quite a bit, 'but my home is still in good old Ohio. Class Will We, the Senior class, of York School, having been allowed to reside here for a period of time under our favorite parent, the faculty, feeling it is our duty to surrender the privileges we have thus far enjoyed, being fully convinced that we are of sound mind, publish and declare this our last will and testament. FIRST: To our beloved successors the Juniors, we will our studious characteristics and good manners. SECOND: To the Sophomores, we will our good intentions and quiet disposition. THIRD: To the Freshmen, we will our good grades and dependability. FOURTH: To the school, we leave the monuments of our school days, such as: broken furniture, iinger-smudged walls, second-hand gum deposits, initialed desks, and well-worn books. I, Jane Swygart, will my disposition to Kenneth Kundert. I Joann Evans, will my ability to play the trombone to anyone who has 7 arms long enough to do it. I, Mary Jane Welker, will my abilty to get along with the teachers to the Freshmen girls, especially Tonia Fishbaugh. I, Bill Hughes, will my ability to run around at all hours to anyone who can take it. I, David Evans, will by ability to stay out till three o'clock in the morning to anyone who can live through it. Edward Homey, returning from a hard day's work at the store demands peace and quietf, because Jonathan Sedgewick, big- shot of the Grocers' Association, is coming to see his plans for a new plastic method of canning, and if Sedgewick likes them we'll be sitting prettyf' Sedgewick is eccen- tric, has a phobia against bugs, insects, and animals of all sorts. When the three Homey off-springs, their pals, and eccentric bug-collecting uncle, a pie-making lady next door who adores the professor, a distracted Italian zoo keeper, and escaped lion, a maid who would just as soon live in an ant hill,', a party, and a dozen and one other things get under way, Mrs. Homey tries to get the peace and quietl' her husband demands, but it's a big order. However, just short of wrecking both Mr. Homey's invention and his mind, the mix-up turns out amicably enough.
