Class Prophecy May 23, 1960 Dear Mrs. Morris, Since receiving your letter of the first, I have come in contact with several of the members of the Class of '50 and I thought you might be inter- ested in their various vocations. I talked to Dean Swygart in Cleveland the other day and he told me that as manager of the Reds he was trying to buy one of the Indians' reserve pitchers. He is hoping for a World Champion team this year. Attending the Chicago Livestock Exposition, I thought I heard a familiar voice. I turned to see Howard Bevington selling the Grand Champion 4-H and F. F. A. steer. He informed me that the steer he was selling came from the Lazy-D ranch, one of the largest in the West, of which Don Price is the owner. I attended a Broadway production of North Atlantic and the star- Miss Constance Starlight-is in real life none other than our own Connie Perez. She told me that the month before she gave a benefit show at a Navajo School. The principal, you will be surprised to learn, is our former schoolmate, Dorothea Pugh. She has a large school and her pupils all love her. Somebody told me that Ruth Lyons has a new singing star on her television show. Curiosity got the best of me and on investigation I found Eleanor Evans before the mike , I saw in the paper that the Pistons beat Rochester by a great score, all because of the feats of their speedy player-John Brenneman. He plans to organize his own team soon. I visited Anna Lee and saw that she, her husband, and two children are making a great succcess with their huge dairy farm. They supply all Tokio and surrounding territory with all kinds of dairy products. And last, but not least, is Bob Muter. I suppose you have heard that he has taken over the managership of the Marshal Field Store in Chicago and is expanding it to meet the huge volume of business. That takes in all my classmates. In case you wonder how I see them all, my travels with the Recruiting Service of the Army Nurse Corps takes me all over the country. ..j-9..
