Class History i Observers on the first morning of school, 1936, could not fail to notice 20 small children who shyly entered their classroom to absorb some knowl- edge under the direction of Miss Johnson. Of these 20 who started, 10 are graduating this year. Remember when Paul Davies got a whipping? In the second grade we were under the direction of Miss Kreischer. Remember how she used to paint her toenails in school? Morgan Roberts also collected four whippings. We were directed by Miss Gibson in the third grade. Donald Jones left our class this year. Remember when Dale Lewis brought an alligator to schoollz 'Also Ed Pollock kissed Maxine Crone. Love was in bloom for those two ...... Miss Evans started us on the road to learning about the world by our studying geography. Remember when Joan Bevington threw a piece of chalk at D. Edwin Jones and almost hit him. We were directed by D. E. Jones in the fifth and sixth grades. Some of us felt the whacks of his paddle. Remember when Dale Lewis, Edwin Pol- lock, Bob Yost, Don Boley crawled out of the window?????? In our seventh year we had our first party. Miss Jones was our sponsor. We found out after a few weeks that Miss Jones had a temper. Ask Evalyn Burnett. This was our first year as Junior High students. We began our Eighth grade with Mrs. Pugh as our instructor. Eva Watson joined our class this year. Remember when Eva and Dale Lewis had a crush on each other? ? ? ? ?? We started out as green Freshmen with Miss Breese as our sponsor. We elected class officers this year. We had a party at Don Boley's home and some of us stayed there until 3:00 A.M. Remember when Max, sitting on a barrel, tried to thread a needle? ? ? ? ?? The next year we found that we were more than members of the high school-we were actually Sophomores. Eva Watson rejoined us tempo- rarily. Remember when Dale L. cried after initiation?????? In our Junior year we found many exciting things to do. We presented our class play, WHAT A FAMILY on April 18, 1947. We received our class rings and pins and we were very proud of them. We entertained the Seniors May 8 at Whitehall Inn for the Prom. Eva Watson entered our class the second semester as a permanent member. Miss Breese was again our sponsor. Our Senior year found us under the guidance of Mrs. Morris. She kept us in step, too. Soon after school started we began work on our class play. We presented BOLTS AND NUTS on October 24, 1947, to a very appre- ciative audience. About the middle of November Mr. Ward came and we chose our name cards and invitations. During most of our Senior year we were kept busy by working on the annual. On October 11 we went to the Endicott Studio in St. Marys to have our graduation pictures taken. On February 11 some of our class went to Ft. Wayne to see the Zollner Pistons play. We had to sit on cement steps and were they ever hard! We decided to take a trip to Washington, D.C. after school is out. 16
