Crack!fThese were the words and ac- tions we received the first two or three weeks of our Freshman year from the upper classmen. All twenty-one of us lived through it, and we are better high school pupils after such treatment. The activities of the Freshman were very numerous during the year. In October we enjoyed a Hallowe'en Party at the home of Helen Girod. This gathering shall never be forgotten as long as memories of the Freshman class last. The Freshman Class was represented very strong on the Junior High basketball team. Also Wayne Pollock was on the Varsity squad. We are sure that the Freshman will be a real asset to the school in the three? years to come. The Freshman had as their guiding hands the following: President ............................ In the year of 1938, we were cogitating about seeking further know- ledge within the door of a high school when we, as Freshman entered York High School, with twenty-two students. In March we were joined by two more fun loving members, Helen Ward and Edith Stuber. We have tried to be the peppiest bunch that has ever invaded the doors of this school, and we have succeeded in making plenty of noise and arousingl enthusiasm throughout the last two years. On October 30, we held a Hallowe'en Party at the home of Jane Breese. It seems as though the girls are the more active this year, for they put five girls on the bas- ketball squad, while the boys failed to get any on their side of the sport. We pledge ourselves tot help make ours a better class and to place York High first in our affections.
