Sure we were going to miss our friends in other schools, but here we were in a brand new school with lots of new friends and it sounded so exciting. And that first year it was! It was a great year! Before we knew it our Junior year had already begun at York High with a fellow known as Whitey leading us as class president. This year three of our Juniors held SCA offices, and we began to feel a bit more important even though the Crusty Crew was running our school at the time. We worked hard, especially with our concession stands and the Prom, but we had fun. When our rings came, my, weren't we proud! Then the day when we entered YHS with the title of Seniors seemed almost like a dream! Our class had grown so big that we required two homerooms, being the largest Senior class in York High so far. For our last year Whitey was again elected president. So many things came one after the other: The exciting football games with our new lights and our winning team, the great basketball season, the variety show, Senior play, the beautiful Prom and the never forgotten trip to Detroit! Here at last is the moment we have all waited for and yet can hardly believe it's here. Graduation! We're saying farewell, but we'll never forget--York High. '70
