'LUnited we stand, divided we fall. 18 , ,swam at , 'xt Contagious cheer pervades the stands ASIDE FROM THE COMMON ACADEMIC BASIS VVHICH WE ALL SHARE, there are school-wide activi- ties which provide us all with a common social basis. After having become a small strand in the vast web of group poli- tics which pervades the high school life, we subconsciously set all our expressions in the direction of becoming a major supporting line for the entire structure. But there is some- thing beyond becoming acceptedg there comes a moment when we realize that we must build a personal foundation upon which we will be able to stand when the group no longer is capable of meeting our personal demands. Through such activities as band and orchestra, York provides numerous chances for the development of the talents which most satisfy us. The enthusiastic response after half-time shows and concert performances proves that this yearfs band and orchestra members were willing to de- vote the hours of practice before, during, and after school necessary to attain excellence.
