In 1951, a small group of students walked through the doors of Yankton High School and were presented with the title of Freshmen. Scared and bewildered, they mingled in and out of the doors and classrooms wonder- ing what each one would bring in the way of excitement. As 1951 and 1952 passed by, they soon became active members of Yankton High School. The years 1953 and 1954 passed rapidly for this busy group of students. Soon this group donned caps and gowns to push through the gates of YHS as the graduating class of 1955. Their senior year was the most exciting as it was stacked high with honors and remembrances of fun-filled activities and concluded with the thrilling night of graduation.
