Seniors History In the fall of 1958 the graduating class of 1951 entered their first year of education. Four students, Velma Yates, Ronald Russell, Phyllis Mallery, and Glenn Wulf have been together all through their twelve years in school at Yamhill. The portals of Yamhill High opened wide in the fall of 1947 when thirty-seven unassured freshmen made their entrance. Lovely dark-haired Donna Beahm was carnival princess. Thelma Vandehey and Evelyn Martin were elected to the Y's Girls. Miss Patricia Apperson led our ambi- tious young officers: president, Jack Cookg vice-president, Donna Beahmg secretary, Thelma Vandeheyg treasurer, Evely: Marting and sec- geant-at-arms, Glenn Wulf. Dick Casey entered the ttermen Club. With a little more boldness than the year before, the sophomores started out with an explosion. Our officers: president, David Facklerg vice-president, Evelyn Martin, secretary, Katy Kruseg treasurer, Bryce Mitchellg sergeant-at-arms, Roger Delayg news reporter, Phyllis llsllary, and student council representative, Donna Beahm, helped Mrs. Mary Bates, our class advisor govern the class. Our charming blue eyed, dark hair- ed princess, Katy Kruse, gave her all for the carnival. Patsy Hermena and Mary Frazier were elected to the Y's Girls. Don Thompson and Keith Morton were the only two Sophomores admitted to the letterman club. Thirty-nine very confident students began their Junior year with a smile. To keep them smiling were the officers: president, Ronald Russell, vice-president, Margaret Peck, secretary, Mary Frazier, trea- surer, Jan Weing and our advisor, Mr. Don Balch. Raven-haired Delores Fackler did her best representing us at the carnival. Velma Yates and Margaret Peck were elected to the Y's Girls. Velma Yates was chosen assmstant-editor of the Tiger Lines and Rosemary Herring was chosen assistant-editor of the Ink Drops. Rosemary Herring, Evelyn Martin, Althea Wolcott and Velma Yates were added to the Quill and Scroll. Roland Russell and Glenn Wulf were admitted to the lettermen organiza- tion. The seniors were entertained by the class at a banqueig Moon- light and Roses . It was enjoyed by all that attended this unforget- table occasion. On September ll, 1950, we started our last year in high school. The student body officers from the class were: Bryce Mitchell, president, Althea Wolcott, secretary, David Fackler, business managerg and Evelyn Martin, book exchange manager. Our advisor, Mr. John Williams, governed our class with the help of the officers: president, Dick Caseyg vice- president, Delores Facklerg secretary, Evelyn Martin, treasure, Lola Beltg and sergeant-at-arms, Phyllis Mallery. Our lovely fair prin- cess, Velma Yates, was chosen queen at the Carnival. Carolyn Rice was chosen for the Y's Girls. The class was wel.l represented in sports, and David Fackler and Jack Cook were admitted to the lelizermen. The Seniors were very well entertained at a banquet given by the Juniors. In the spring the Seniors took a day off from school for their Senior skip and had a very exciting time. The climax of our years' work was graduation week, with baccalaureate. and commencement.
