Third Row-Elsthon Anderson, George Talbott, jesse Middleton, Verdin Moll. Fourth Row-Robert Landaker, Robert Crawford, Paul Huston, Robert McClelland, Willard Bath. On October 9, 1940, the student body of Central High voted and elected Ray Snyder as president and David Adair as vice president of the student government. The real purpose behind student government is to prepare for good citizenship in a democracy by having student participation in government procedures. The first accomplishment of the student government was to originate and put into practice a monitor system to alleviate confusion in the halls. These are changed periodically and have helped much to stimulate better attitude in hall traffic. The senate is composed of the presidents of all school organizations. As in the national government, the officers preside in similar capacities. In addition to the presiding officers, the senate has elected June Ervin as secretary and Barbara Jean Mason as treasurer. Officers for the succeeding year are to be elected before the close of the present year that they may be active from the start of the new school year. CEN-SEN Thirty
