SENIORS PROBE relevance of Christianity through informal class discussions. Topics range from interfaith dating to the layman's role in the Church. Religion 2 INDIVIDUAL QUESTIONING is encouraged as Jill Zwaska points out , Religion is no longer the sum total of con- fession on Saturday, Mass on Sunday, and no meat on Friday - at least not at Xavier. Through the Hi-Time Magazine, this course has acquired a vibrant, vital approach to Christianity. lt,s main goal, to make religion relevant to daily life, is accomplished during discussion groups in the classroom, followed by practical application of the results. When the nehulous theory that every man is an image of Christ was tested, improvement in school courtesy was noticed, and a deeper under- stzpgdling oi the value of spiritual reading to Sue Ryan, Rosemary Twaddle, and S www Whitney. Be it dissecting frogs, proving principles, or collecting gas in bottles, scientific curiosity reigns supreme. Weekly lectures supplement text- book knowledge, and a student's progress is checked by chapter tests. By undertaking outside projects, sci- ence students learn the principles of independent investigation and the value of science in daily life. SOLUTION A shows little reaction when Kris Korte and Alannah Kahley compare it to the control. Nancy Babington and Kathy Heames prepare agar-agar for their mold. 20 ACADEMICS Q
