It is reason in man that makes him different from the brute. Rational beings act with a knowledge of what they do. This is why they have a responsibility for their actions. Yet, in a matter of supreme importance, the majority of mankind act without the least forethought or even in- telligence. God desires and Christ died on the Cross for the salvation of man. How then do we account for this neglect among the vast majority? The answer is a lack of proper education. True educa- tion can never omit from the child's curriculum religion or moral- ity. Real education trains one to know his destiny in life and the world to come. It teaches him to know and to love God. The neglect of proper education is responsible for wars among nations and crimes among men. feditating then on this thought, you must realize what a debt you owe to God, your parents and teachers through whom you enjoy the benefits of a right edu- cation.
