'Wiz In Memormm I0 PROFESSOR PARKER H. BURT E AT Seminary, faculty and students alike, felt deeply the loss of Professor Parker H. Burt. The announcement was made by Dr. Decker in chapel on Tuesday, December 7, 1954. The next day in chapel a memorial service was held, and even those students who had never known Professor Burt realized that a part of the school itself had died. He First came to Seminary in 1919 and during his thirty-five years taught Latin and French. He became head of the Modern Language Department. Professor Burt took a personal interest in his students, and many of them always came to see him during their vacations to tell .him how they were getting along. He was never too busy to see them and give them advice. Those of us who had him in class will never forget his ready sense of humor or his fairness. The faculty remember him as a friend who gave his all to help make Seminary the school it is today.
