DEAN JAMES A. ADAMS Dean of Wyoming Seminary, head of the Mathematics Department, and a friend to all. is this helpful New Englander. Dean Adams came to Seminary in 1920 after graduating from the University of Maine and receiving his M.A. at Columbia. A veteran of World War I, he has traveled extensively in Europe, the United States, Canada, and the West Indies. Some of the Dean's hobbies are photography, coin col- lecting, and stamp collecting. His crowded advanced algebra class and the endless line of students at his office door are proof of his wit, wisdom, and eHiciency. The Class of 1955 wishes to thank Dean Adams. MISS ERMA E. FOSTER Perhaps one of the best known figures on campus is our own Miss Erma E. Foster. Miss Foster has been a member of the faculty here at Seminary for many years. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and has done graduate work at Oberlin, Syracuse, and Cornell. Miss Foster teaches classes in mathematics, and is an indis- pensable part of Swetland Hall. She will always be remembered for her advice and assistance to the students. We, the Class of '55, extend a very earnest thank you to the Dean of Girls. J. T. HUGHES The amiable associate dean of Seminary is Professor J. Theodore Hughes. Upon him falls the duty and, at times, the unpleasant task of disciplining the students. Until this year he could be found about the campus with his detention lists. At all time he is patient and understanding. A native of Scranton, Prof. Hughes was a member of the Class of '24 of Wyoming Semi- nary. From here he went to Wesleyan University and later did graduate work at Cornell. In 1931 he joined Seminary's faculty and soon became a valuable asset. Besides the busy schedule of associate dean, he is the faculty adviser for the Honor Court and teaches chem- istry. Prof. Hughes is liked and respected by all.
