The administration at Groves was
often taken for granted. lvlr. Sonald
Flolph, as principal, must oversee all of
the school activities. Throughout the
year, he had Department Chairmen re-
porting directly to him.
lVlr. .John Collins and lVlr. Sud Kel-
ler were the assistant principals. They,
as well, had their own particular assign-
ments, such as attendance, problems
between teachers and students, and

administration was lVlrs. Jean Sharrard.
She had been associated with the Sir-
mingham School System since 'lS57,
when she first began teaching. She was
the Activities- Director at Groves since
'lSS'l. ln this post, she planned when
Groves' activities, such as school dances,
would take place. This unfortunately.
was lvlrs. Sharrard's last year at Groves.
She will be greatly missed by both the
faculty and the student body.
