Twenty per cent of the senior boys ranking highest in scholastic achievements are named by Vice- Principal Clyde Hume for the preliminaries, consisting of three tests plus personality ratings given by teachers. Winners are chosen from those boys making the highest scores on psychological examinations, achievement tests, and personal interviews. Every high school in Kansas is allowed at least one candidate and not more than five per cent of the graduating class each year. To receive a scholarship is an honor of the highest significance and is intended to confer rare scholastic achievements. Eleanor Broughton has re- ceived a scholarship to the Vir- ginia Intermont College, Bristol, Virginia.
