Through biology, chemistry and general science, we learn the intricate laws that govern our life processes and environment. ln algebra and geometry we find that almost every achievement is based on mathe- matics - radar, construction, network communication, irrigation, flood control, atomic energy and the study of space. First and second-year algebra, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry are available to any am- bitious student. Through the biological and physical sciences, we explore the myriad secrets that nature holds for man, from the smallest one-cell animal to our vast universe. The microscope, barometer, test tube, flask, crucible and Bunsen burner have become familiar words. Through our seeing mans responsibilities, needs, desires and dreams, a world of wonder and.brightness is opened to us in science. HOW DO WE DE ELOP Although formal subjects are academically stimulating and enjoyable, more active classes provide the perfect complement to our regular curriculum. Increasing in interest this year has been the music pro- gram, under the direction of Mrs, Harry Thomson. Through the bi-weekly music appreciation class, we have gained knowledge of both modern and classical compositions. Special chorus, a vol- untary organization, works diligently to bring music closer to us. A class that combines learning with enjoyment and activity, Physical Education, is one of the best loved. Softball, volleyball, basketball and archery are a few of the sports studied. Health, First Aid and Home Nursing are offered to pupils from the third grade through high school. Besides improving coordination, physical education gives relaxation and eases tensions. All these subjects - music, physical education and speech - work together to produce the best college materialg for health and well-being are important factors. Class sports are as thrilling and spirited as intramurals. ,Q-ww Peg poses as victim for Liz to demonstrate artificial respiration to Allen.
