The administration as well as the faculty work hand-in- hand with the curriculum to provide an outstanding aca- demic atmosphere at WHS. One comment made by many students is the availabil- ity of teachers and their will- ingness to help when needed. Many of the WHS faculty go beyond the call of duty. John Hoffler, WHS principal, ranks first on this list. In between meetings and other duties, Mr. Hoffler is seen in the halls with the students. He estimates that he knows more than nine hun- dred students by first and last name. Many faculty members are directly involved with the students as club advisors, coaches, and most importantly, friends. The curriculum at WHS ex- ceeds that of many other schools. Advanced courses are offered in almost every field. The courses allow students who are outstanding in a particular area to continue to broaden their knowledge. Independent courses are similar, but are planned by the teacher and stu- dent. The WHS curriculum is designed primarily to be col- lege prepatory, but there are courses for those interested in entering the “real world” im- mediately after graduation. Opening 5

Worthington High School hosts one of the finest academic programs, prides itself in its extra-curricular activities and func- tions very well within the three campus program; however, the students make the whole system shine. According to faculty as well as class- mates, the students of WHS have many fine qualities. WHS students are spirited, crazy, studious, go-getting, positive, athle- tic, caring, involved, preppy, dedicated, enthusiastic, stylish, energetic, friendly, creative, sporty, ambitious, original, vogue, individualistic, aggressive, expand- ing, assertive, broad minded, cooperative, rowdy, unique, devoted, independent, and last but not least, proud. That they should be because they are part of the number one high school in central Ohio. Opening 7
