Mr. H. Don Scott .Xfter Nlr. Scott's graduation from Muskingum College, he had a variety of experiences before becom- ing' principal of our high school. He first taught and coached at Manchester High School before entering the Army. 'I'hen for eighteen months he supervised at Ariny schools lor illiterates. After serving' two years overseas with the 82nd para- troopers division, Mr. Scott taught at Marysville High School and was executive head of Kirkersville school. His last position before coming to XVooster was as principal of liarnesville High School. During Nlr. Scott's two years here, he has shown a genuine friendly interest in the students and has been helpful in every way he could. QQQ'-D ' ww' . Mr. D. P. Bodenbender Being superintendent of the XVooster school sys- leni is a full-time job, but Mr. Bodenbender is always willing' to assist students whenever he can. Schultz Board of Education One ol' the major projects ol' the l952-53 Board ol' Education has been the building' program. This past year, besides completing a two-room remodeling .job at X'Valnut Street School, six new classrooms and a teachers' room were added to the Layton School building. A two-room addition to the Beall ,Xvenue School has been approved, and plans are being' made lor this project. ln order to make a complete study ol' building plans and to view lirst hand the various types ol' school lurniture and equipment, three board members went with Mr. liodenbender to Atlantic City last February. The board authorized the purchase ol' the new cyclorama, which is now in use on the auditorium stage. ,X better salary schedule lor teachers was also adopted. X'Vooster's Board was one ol' the lirst to oi n the newly-organized North- eastern Ohio School Board .'Xssociation. The purpose ol' this group is to give board members a chance to meet and discuss common problems. Plans lor the luture include securing' a speech and hearing' therapist lor the city schools. ln view ol' the increasing munber ol' school children, the board in planning lor luture expansion is studying new sites lor building.
