page eight board of education Planning the decorating of school rooms, adding Distributive Edu' cation to the high school curriculum, securing a more attractive salary schedule for teachers, and adding a reading school for elementary students to the summer school program--- these are a few of the many things which th 1951352 Board of Education has done this year. Through the Board's efforts in pointing out the need for more class' rooms and money with which to operate, the voters of Wooster approved a new threefmill levy last November. With this money, the Board remodeled a part of Walnut Street school, adding two new classrooms. Plans have also been made to add six classrooms and a teachers' room to the new Layton School building. With the cofoperation of the Wooster merchants and the State Department of Education, the Board succeeded in adding the course of Distributive Education to Wooster High's curriculum. With the help of the faculty a better and more attractive salary schedule has been put into effect. In 1951, a six weeks course in reading was given to elementary students who have trouble with that subject. This project will be conf tinued this summer. The continuous program of redecorating in the high school and elef mentary schools was made possible by the Board of Education.
