I 1 ' - - A ' - 1 2 -IT HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1919 When we the Class of 1919 first entered High School as Fresh men I dare say we were a little green but that lasted only a few days so that it was not long before we established a good reputation for everything in general and brains in particular That reputation still held true when we again came to the building as very dignified Sophomores You may be sure though that we lost some of that dignity at the football games because we were all anxious to see W H S win and were willing to root for our team Perhaps a little time after this you would pass a group of excited boys and girls in the halls of the high school discussing what seemed to them some very important matters I wonder who will be our class president? one of them would say Which do you like better for class colors scarlet and gray or orange and black? Orange and black of course' Wouldn t they be fine for sweaters? was the reply were the about to be organwed Sophomores But after the class was really organized and the orange and black began to appear in vauous ways one had no trouble in determimng the class to which we be longed Who wouldnt go through all the tri ils and temptations of being a Sophomore Just to be able to attend class SOCIHIS? And now we who have worked so hard U1 to become Sophomores can readily say that it was certainly worth while to have enough credits to go to the two class socials we have had this year One was held in December and the other in the spring Now we are wishing though in vain perhaps for one more the memorv of which we hope will carry us successfully through those terrible final exams While there IS a little truth in the old adage A good beginning makes a bad end I do not think that applies at all in the case of 1919 for since we have passed the first two years with flying colors there ls every indication that through the Junior and Senior years we will still be true to our own Orange and Black and the Brown and Blue of Wooster High Elizabeth Reese 48 1 9 K I A ' 7 Y I Y !
