Juniors Anticipate Senior Year Class Officers. Below: Advisor William Jiricek, John Vetter, student council representative; Rich Linke, vice-president. Above: Susan Donohue, secretary-treasurer; Dorthea Nielsen, president. The class of '71 was excited, energetic, and eager as the door opened to their junior year of high school. Fall meant Homecoming and producing a skit for the coronation. Maudie and Fred made their first appearance, gaining many fans. The juniors also found time to plan and construct the first place float. Next on the agenda came magazine sales to raise money for the prom. The Woonsocket citizens still remember the persuasive tactics which ena- bled the class to surpass all previous totals. Carnival time brought the juniors out in full force to support their can- didates, Rich Linke and Carol Groseth. They were awarded second place. Shortly after Christmas, many members of the class were busy rehear- sing for the upcoming play. Others were busy with stage decorations, pro- grams, and advertising. Comedy fell right in line with the juniors as they presented the smash-hit, Deadly Earnest.” On May 2, 1970, the class of '71 hosted a very successful prom. The pillars and flower-filled garden illustrated the Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet. Banquet entertainment was furnished by the Full House of Mitchell, and Ma’s Boys played for the prom. The juniors closed the door of the past year, eager to begin their last phase of high school.
