SOMETHING NEW IN W. H. S At the beginning of the school term several librarians were appointed to oversee library periods throughout the day. Each was responsible for his period and library activities during that period. Those included are: Karen Lindley, Gay Baughfman, Larry Maakested, Kay Budde, Jeanice Christian, Sharon Yegge, Hope Taylor, Nancy Dechow, Mary McCord, and Barbara Thompsen. Key Club is an organization of senior high boys, chosen on a scholas- tic and leadership basis, sponsored by Kiwanis of Woonsocket. Honor assembly, an unsupervised assembly period at certain periods of the day, was as an incentive for their best work.

CARNIVAL ROYALTY KING JIM QUEEN KAY The annual Woonsocket High School Carnival was held at the City Auditorium, on Friday evening February 20, 1959. Activities began with the participation in games and fun at the various booths previously set up. The culmination of events was high-lighted with the crowning of the sophomore candidates for King and Queen. These honors were attained by hard work and fair play, and were especially attractive to King Jim and Queen Kaye, two most deserving classmates. Attendants were juniors Carolyn Paulson and Mark Berg; seniors Janice Hansen and Tom Jenssen. Barbara White and Carl Kappel were crown bearers. The Queen was pre- sented a lovely bouquet, and each received a gift.
