'54 Senior Class Play “Going Places , a three act comedy, was presented by the Seniors, April 23, 1954, at 8:00 in the City Auditorium. The scene takes place in the Jackson home. After seeing Aunt Mary (Katherine Houlihan) and Nadine Smith (Theresa Howard) come home from their vacations completely worn out, Mrs. Jackson (Lois Druse) decides that the family should spend it s vacation at home. Mr. Jackson (Gordon Kappel) has his mind set on fishing in the mountains but ends up painting the basement. Elmer Jackson (Jim Forbes), a mischievious young lad spends his time cleaning out the garage by dragging everything into the living room. His pal, Timothy Swanson, (Jim McCoy) comes over to see if he and Elmer can find anything exciting to do. To make the vacation complete, all the in-laws come to visit. Grandpa Jackson and Grand- pa Brown (Jim Davis and Bob Brewer) get into a fight and are hardly able to get around. Grandma Jackson and Grandma Brown are busy scalloping potatoes and bandaging the men. In the midst of the confusion, Mr. Jackson is trying to sign a contract with an important business man, Mr. Hinckley (Bernard Ashfeld). JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM OF 1954 “Moonlight and Roses’ was the theme for the annual Junior- Senior Banquet and Prom held Tuesday evening, May 4, 1954. Nine Sophomore girls acted as waitresses for the banquet. The banquet was served at 6:30 P.M. in the lunch room. Table decora- tions followed the theme. At 8‘00 the Grand March was held in the auditorium. Mary Lou Emerson, Junior Class President and Richard Parsons led the pro- cession under the rose-covered arch. The auditorium was beautifully decorated in the “Moonlight and Roses” theme. A dark blue sky covered the ceiling. Thousands of stars sparkled in the blue. A spraying water fountain and ornamental wishing well added to the romantic effect. Music for dancing was furnished by the orchestra of Mike Gibbs. Ronald Marsh.
