HOMECOMING QUEEN Theresa Howard KING James Forbes Woonsocket High School's second annual Homecoming, Ki Yi Day, was held Friday, October 23, 1953» A bonfire and pep rally on the school grounds began the festivities on Thursday evening. A snake dance, through the business district followed and brought the evening to a close. Coronation ceremonies were held in the City Auditorium, Friday morning, at which Jim Forbes and Theresa Howard were crowned King and Queen. The parade Friday afternoon was led by the Legion Color Guard, and consisted of twirlers, band, and floats. Following the parade was a football game between the Letcher Tigers and the Redmen. The afternoon's activities ended Joyously as the Redmen won by a 32-19 score. Alumni and students gathered in the Parish Hall, at 6:30, for the Alumni Banquet. Gordon Kappel, President of the Student Body, was Master of Ceremonies and Mr. T. R. Brisbine gave a brief speech. A dance, sponsored by the American Legion, concluded the Homecoming Day.
