THE ROYAL PARTY Back Row: Janet Roti, Glennis Fitting, Margaret Moran, John Ball, Pat Howard, Bob Goeraan. Front Row: Jim Smith, Dale Kutil, Susan Brewer, Don Reider, Jim Paulson. Ki Yi Day, Woonsocket High School's first homecoming in approxi- mately twenty years, was held on Friday, October 21 , 1952. Activities began Thursday evening when the Student Body gathered around a huge bonfire in the school yard for a pep fest. This was con- cluded with a snake dance led by the cheerleaders and football boys. Friday morning, coronation ceremonies were held in the City uditorium, at which John Ball and Margaret Moran were crowned King and Queen. In the afternoon, the parade, lead by the Legion color guard and consisting of twirlers, band, and various floats, wound its way from the south end of main street to the football field, where the Woonsocket Red- men triumphed over the Fort Thompson Panthers by a score of 3l -6. Following the football game. Alumni and students gathered at the Parish Hall at 6:30 for the Alumni Banquet. John Ball, president of the Student Body acted as master of ceremonies and Lloyd Webster gave the response for the Alumni. Closing the day's activities was the Alumni Dance sponsored by the American Legion and held in the City Auditorium. Candidates were chosen from the senior class by popular vote of the Student Body. Attendants were Giannis Pitting, Janet Roti, Bob Goeman, and Pat Howard. A large crowd of students, parents, and friends gathered at the City Auditorium on Friday morning, October 21 ., to wit- ness the coronation ceremonies.
