DEDICATIO The staff of the l949 Talisman wishes to dedicate this '49 Gold Hush anniversary edition to the Head of the Woodruff High School Social Studies Department who is Mr. Andrew Hoeflin. We feel that this is an appropriate idedicat1onSfor two reasons. First'F on this one hundredth anniversary of the l849 westward trek for gold we realize its hist- orical significance. Mr. Hoeflin is more than a teacher of history--he is truly a 'student' of history. Those of us fortun- ate enough to sit in Mr. Hoeflin's classes realize the significance of many historical events under his guidance. Secondly, we are happy to make this ded- ication as a personal tribute to Mr.Hoeflin. Some were killed--some fell by the wayside--,but the experienced and wiser ones surged ever onward to reach their goal. As it was then, so be it today! ' Four years ago, a group of young men and women started on the most important journey in their life, to seek education! The 'Talisman' has kept an account of these men and women and their activities throughout their years here.
