'Q K Q 'W 5 ai Ii, -If ' Qlilkx J ? Wilson's Fine Arts department has a great deal to boost about. The students who apply themselves in this field are well rewarded. This year Wilson has had occasion to be proud of many of her students in art, music and drama. Gold Keys were won by Fran Hollis and Charles Gail in the Na- tional Scholastic Art Contest and Fran's work was hung in the Carnegie Institute along with other Southlanders. Wilson's drama classes have grown this year to an en- rollment of over 60 students. The activities of these classes havealso widened with participation in four speech tourna- ments and the Pasadena Playhouse Contest. This constituted only a portion of the speech and drama program which in- cluded the production of two Pulitzer Prize plays, Thornton Wilder's Our Town and the Kaufman-Ferber hit, Stage Door . Both were under the direction of Wilson's drama in- structor, Mr. William Gass, who also initiated a chapter of the National Thespian Society on Wilson's campus for the first time. The best performances awards went to Lea Jachnuk and Rollie Slagle for Our Town and Pat Lala and Roger John- son for Stage Door . -.. eff-sfmaL,yr'f '- af ,m i 'i ' va .WF .-1.92 'fini Mr. Kaelin's Art Production Class is a very active group when there is the need of a iob well done.
