THESE are the capable Sr. A otticers ot the class ot W'56, Athenians. They successfully guided their class through all the Sr. A Activities. They are as follows: Jim Garcia, treasurer, John Celiz, boys' vice-president, Rollie Slagle, president, Aida Lugo, girls' vice-president, and Barbara Huffman, secretary. THE THEME chosen by the Athenians,W '56 for their graduation was: For we are ihe lovers of beauty, yet simple in our tastes, and we cultivate the mind without loss of manliness. This class has lived up to its name. The name Athenian means citizens of Athens, the capital of Greece. This city was and still is the capital of Greece and con- sidered the center of culture and intellectual achievement. Although small in number they achieved many honors in Wilson High. The class Valedictorian was Barbara Huff- man. Barbara had straight A's throughout high school except for one instance when she received a B. The Salutatorian was Bob Hill, also an above average student. The complete class of Athenians had the highest grade average in perhaps the entire history of Wilson High School. Out of the 57 members there were many leaders including Jim Johnson, who led the Student Body through the winter semester. The Athenians com- pleted their Sr. year with the customary Sr. activities, the Sr. Picnic, Tea, Prom, and Breakfast. This class, the Athenians, has entered the adult world to become leaders of our nation as professors, teachers, fathers and mothers of a new generation.
